About Us
Hard to believe it’s year 20 for DSDC! What started as a competitive cheer team, Mrs. Mary Jo took a chance to live out her dream and create her own dance studio! Here we are 20 years in business and we are beyond blessed with all of the wonderful memories that have been made along the way! Words cannot express how truly blessed we are! We have an exciting year planned with new events to come! We offer ballet, lyrical, tap, jazz and tumbling to ages preschool to high school. Our students participate in community events throughout the year and end the year with their annual dance recital in June. Come join our amazing diva family!

Mary Jo Maldonado
Mary Jo Maldonado was born and raised in Galveston, Tx. With 40 years of dance experience and knowledge, Mary Jo started the Diva Stars to give young athletes the skills and technique to compete on a competitive level. She has two children Chrislynn and CJ with her husband Chris. Chrislynn shares her love for dance with her mother and is currently the Lt. Colonel of the Tornettes. Mary Jo is dedicated to her students and is proud to give them a dance family.
