About Us
It's hard to believe that this is Year 20 for Diva Stars Dance Company! What began as a competitive cheer team and a dream in the heart of Mrs. Mary Jo has grown into a thriving dance studio and an incredible dance family.
Twenty years ago, Mrs. Mary Jo took a leap of faith to pursue her passion and open her own studio. Today, we are beyond grateful for the countless memories, friendships, achievements, and milestones that have been made along the way. Words cannot express how truly blessed we are by the support of our dancers, families, staff, and community throughout the years.
As we celebrate this special milestone, we have an exciting year planned with new events and opportunities for our dancers! Diva Stars Dance Company offers ballet, lyrical, tap, jazz, and tumbling classes for students ranging from preschool through high school. Throughout the year, our dancers participate in community events and performances, culminating in our spectacular Annual Dance Recital each June.

Our Owner
Mary Jo Maldonado

Mary Jo Moreno Maldonado was born and raised in Galveston, Texas.
With more than 40 years of dance experience and knowledge,
she founded Diva Stars Dance Company with the vision of providing young athletes with the
skills, technique, and confidence needed to excel at a competitive level.
Mary Jo and her husband, Chris, are the proud parents of two children, Chrislynn and CJ.
Her daughter, Chrislynn, shares her passion for dance and recently earned a spot on the Blinn College Treasures Dance Team, continuing the family's dance legacy.
Dedicated to her students and their success, Mary Jo strives to create more than just
skilled dancers—she fosters a supportive and encouraging dance family.
She takes great pride in helping her students grow both on and off the dance floor
while inspiring a lifelong love of dance and teamwork.
